@alejoskyhitz • November 1, 2024 - I appreciate the spotlight on remittances but the idea that a faster/cheaper blockchain can bring their cost down is fundamentally flawed. Throughput, latency and marginal cost savings mean nothing for the remittance use case. The only thing that matters is having an effective and cheap network of last mile solutions.
A remittance ends when the receiver can buy groceries, not when a row changes in a database. Study Stellar ;)

On March 16th, 2015, Stellar Development Foundation opened 30 day public auction of stellars. The auction will be conducted on the Stellar internal distributed exchange via Haste.co.nz (formerly Coinex, an early Stellar anchor), a registered Financial Services Provider in New Zealand. The auction raised 2.02 million USD by allocating 650 million XLM at an average price of $0.0031 per XLM.

On August 1, 2014, the Stellar Development Foundation, known for its work on the Stellar open-source, decentralized protocol for digital currency to fiat currency transfers, announced a Seed funding round, successfully raising $3 million.
