- Dear Vela Fam,
We want to take a moment to thank you for your trust and support in our platform. It has been an incredible journey, and we’ve been proud to provide innovative DeFi solutions that meet the evolving needs of our users.
We would like to announce that the current market conditions and slower-than-expected user adoption lead to sustainability and business model considerations, therefore we have decided to begin winding down our retail operations starting today October 24th ,and shut down Vela Exchange dApp on October 31st. We truly believe that we built an innovative product that has served the needs of thousands of DeFi users for the last 1.5 years and our focus going forward will be technology licensing and white-label solutions to blockchains and teams that want to build their very own advanced perps DEX utilizing democratized liquidity.
Our team is fully dedicated to ensuring a smooth and secure process for our traders and liquidity providers during this transition. Below, you can find detailed instructions to help you close out your positions and/or transfer your assets in the coming days.
Traders:
-Opening a new position is no longer available as of October 24th 2PM EST
-Any open positions on Vela Exchange must be closed before October 31st. (We highly recommend doing this action within the next 48hrs before the VLP is unlocked to ensure guaranteed execution.)
-User withdrawals will continue to function as usual.
Please close your positions and withdraw your deposits at your earliest convenience.
VLP holders/stakers:
-VLP will be locked for 48 hours allowing all users to close their positions and after 48 hours users can withdraw their liquidity.
-VLP withdrawal fee will be reduced to 0% on October 26th @ 2 pm EST, so users can withdraw without any penalty or fee.
-LP minting, staking and depositing collateral will NOT be functional as of today.
